Warhammer Online Dwarf guild
« on: September 27, 2008, 10:27:52 AM »

Ok, as some of you may be aware, I am going to have a bash at getting a dwarf guild going over in WAR. There are a few interested folks here, and from the GRS, so hopefully we can get a nice core group to build on.

The name I have come up with is Grom Karaz, which means defiant mountain in the Warhammer dwarf language. A suitably dwarfish concept, and it rolls off the tongue rather pleasingly. If anybody who has expressed and interest has any objections to the name, or any suggestions they feel are better, please speak up, though I am in charge, so ye better learn accept what you are told and follow orders

I wrote a bit of blurb for the guild:

"Some believe that the dwarf race is dwindling. Our mighty empire is shattered, the ceaseless war with the greenskins driving us from our lands as one after another our great fortresses, cities and mines fall before the forces of Destruction. Karak Ungor, Karak Varn, Mount Silverspear, Karak Drazh, Karak Azgal and even Karak Eight Peaks, all lost. Yes, there are those that say that this is the twighlight of our race. But they are wrong. As long as there are still grudges to bear, there will be dwarfs to bear them. It is time for our scattered peoples to gather together and take back what is ours. Bring yer axes, yer guns and yer runes. Grom Karaz needs you! All the displaced and wandering dwarfs, come unite under our banner, and together we will drive the greenskins from our lands!"

Not the most complex of concepts, but at least it might stir up a few dwarfish spirits. I am a big fan of having a loose framework for a guild, and the real stories and lore emerging through the adventures and battles we fight together, rather than devising a complex backstory and history  that we must adhere to. A great example is the GRS. How they were formed, what happened to their members, and even how they obtained their headquarters all occured through player interactions in the game. So if you want there to be more lore, bring a character brimming with lore and ready for adventure, and we'll see what stories we can make together.

We have a forum set up over at http://www.grom-karaz.org.uk

Any who are interested in joining, please register there. I am hoping to get the guild made in-game at some point today or tomorrow.

No no, you got it all wrong. Im simply blessed by a Divine Power. My mutations are basically the same as your beard, a blessing from the Gods.  Grin

And when it looks like Im killing your comrades, think again. Im just misunderstood, because Im not killing them. Im merely rearranging their flesh in a form more pleasing to the eye of Tzeentch.
